Cameroon boss Volker Finke slams "unacceptable" behaviour

Volker Finke criticises the behaviour of some of his Cameroon players during the World Cup.

Cameroon coach Volker Finke has branded the behaviour of some of his players during the World Cup as "unacceptable" and says that he will need to speak to certain squad members about their conduct.

The Indomitable Lions have been knocked out in the group stages after defeat to Mexico and an empathic loss to Croatia in Manaus, with reports suggesting a split in the dressing room after Benoit Assou-Ekotto headbutted teammate Benjamin Moukandjo during their 4-0 defeat last Thursday.

However, Finke insists that any poor conduct is inexcusable.

He told reporters: "We will need to talk to certain players. The behaviour of some of them was not at all satisfying. It's unacceptable to see that kind of thing.

"We have already analysed the first two games and worked well with the players. There have been some situations where we have lacked concentration and we also lacked a finishing touch against Croatia but we can do better against Brazil."

Cameroon are yet to qualify for the second round of any World Cup since their famous run to the quarter finals of Italia 90, where they were beaten by Bobby Robson's England side.
