Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is reportedly set to face showdown talks over his future ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola is reportedly expected to face showdown talks over his future.

Iraola was appointed Bournemouth manager in the summer following his decision to leave Spanish side Rayo Vallecano.

The Bournemouth hierarchy recruited Iraola after they decided to sack Gary O'Neil at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, despite the fact that the Englishman had led the club to safety.

The appointment of Iraola is yet to have the desired effect, with the Cherries boss experiencing a poor start to his tenure.

Bournemouth are one of two teams yet to win a top-flight game this season, having drawn three and lost six of their nine league matches.

As a result of their poor form, the Cherries are currently languishing in 19th position with two points separating them from safety.

Iraola's only two victories as Bournemouth boss have taken place in the EFL Cup, where they eliminated second-tier opposition in Swansea City and Stoke City.

The pressure ramped up on Iraola at the weekend after the Cherries suffered a 2-1 loss to a Wolverhampton Wanderers side managed by O'Neil.

According to The Sun, Iraola is bracing himself for showdown talks, with the club's owner Bill Foley set to travel to England ahead of Saturday's crucial meeting with Burnley.

Foley was convinced to replace O'Neil with Iraola by Bournemouth's CEO Neil Blake and technical director Richard Hughes.

The report suggests that a failure to secure all three points at the weekend could force the club's board to change manager.

However, Iraola could be given more time if the Cherries can beat Vincent Kompany's side, who are also sitting in the relegation zone.

Having failed to win any of their last 13 league games, Bournemouth go into the weekend with hopes of securing their first top-flight victory since April.
