Wales boss Chris Coleman to strip captaincy from Aaron Ramsey

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been replaced as Wales captain by Swansea City defender Ashley Williams for the side's World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia.

Wales manager Chris Coleman has decided to take the national captaincy from Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

The 21-year-old, who was handed the skipper's role by the late Gary Speed last year, has been dropped as captain for the side's upcoming 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia.

It has been confirmed that Swansea City defender Ashley Williams will lead the side out for their two international clashes this month.

Meanwhile, Cardiff City forward Craig Bellamy has not been included in the Welsh squad due to problems with a calf injury.
