Clarence Seedorf positive despite Napoli defeat

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf says that he saw "a lot of positives" during his team's 3-1 defeat against Napoli.

AC Milan manager Clarence Seedorf has said that he saw "a lot of positives" during his team's 3-1 defeat to Napoli.

The Rossoneri took an early lead with a debut goal from Adel Taarabt but Gokhan Inler drew Napoli level, and a second-half double from Gonzalo Higuain condemned Seedorf to his first loss in the league as manager.

"I didn't see steps backward, only in terms of the result," he told Sky Sport Italia. "I saw a lot of positives: we prepared for the match in a certain aspect and then Kaka and Keisuke Honda's fever complicated things. I had to play Ignazio Abate as an attacker due to the emergency.

"In the first half we struggled a bit so I played Urby Emanuelson higher up the pitch in order to not waste a substitution. I wanted to change the position of the players but not right away.

"In some aspects we didn't take steps forward but maybe I see things with different eyes with regards to certain mechanisms. The strikers tracked back, we were never broken into two teams and my work is to also look at these positives."

Milan are currently 10th in the Serie A table.
