Roger Federer believes that only a "perfect" performance would be enough to beat Novak Djokovic in tomorrow's Wimbledon semi-final.

Roger Federer has expressed his belief that only a "perfect" performance will be enough to beat Novak Djokovic when the two face each other in the semi-finals of Wimbledon tomorrow.

Federer, a six-time winner at SW19, is appearing in his first semi-final at the venue for three years, while Djokovic is the defending champion and current world number one.

However, Federer could regain the number one spot if he clinches a record-equalling seventh Wimbledon title.

"You have to prepare yourself well in every department," Federer said.

"Only a perfect performance will be enough to beat Djokovic."

Should Federer overcome the two big hurdles that face him, the 30-year-old would also equal Pete Sampras's record of 286 weeks at the top of the world rankings.
