Murray donates Queen's Club winnings to charity

Andy Murray donates his £73,300 winnings from a successful Queen's Club championship to the Rally Against Cancer fund set up by former Davis Cup teammate Ross Hutchins.

The Lawn Tennis Association has confirmed tonight that Andy Murray will donate his entire prize fund from a successful campaign at Queen's to the Rally Against Cancer charity fund.

Murray prevailed in a hard-fought clash against Marin Cilic to claim his third Queen's Club title this afternoon, fighting back to win in three sets.

Following the final Murray, took part in a charity match alongside coach Ivan Lendl, Tim Henman and a whole host of celebrities including Boris Johnson, Jonathan Ross, Michael McIntyre and Jimmy Carr.

The celebrity game was organised by Murray's former Davis Cup teammate Ross Hutchins, who is battling Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Hutchins set up the Rally Against Cancer to help raise money for the Royal Marsden Hospital, where he has received treatment for the rare form of cancer.

With the event raising £147,000 so far, the LTA confirmed on Twitter this evening that Murray will add his winner's cheque of around £73,300 to the charity appeal.
