Andy Murray has admitted that it took him a while to adjust to the quick conditions during his second-round win over Lukas Rosol at the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.
The British number one, who received a bye in the opening round, fought back from a set and a break down to secure a 4-6 6-3 6-2 victory in an hour and 45 minutes on Stadium 1.
"It was tough. I've never started well at this tournament," Murray told Sky Sports News. "I have always struggled early on with the quick conditions.
"It's very dry in the desert and the ball flies through the air quickly. He was bring very aggressive and hitting big shots. I just had to keep fighting and try and find some rhythm.
"Once I started to use my forehand a little bit more, I was able to dictate the points and started to feel better from the middle of the second set."
Murray will face Jiri Vesely in the third round, after the 20-year-old beat 32nd seed Pablo Andujar 6-1 2-6 6-1.
