Wigan Warriors overcome Huddersfield Giants test

Wigan Warriors stay in touch with the top of the Super League table by earning a 32-18 win at Huddersfield Giants.

Wigan Warriors have kept in touch with the top of the Super League table by earning a 32-18 victory away to Huddersfield Giants.

An entertaining first half saw both sides score two tries each, though it was the Warriors who pulled away after the break to claim the spoils.

Jared Simpson's early score was cancelled out by Joe Burgess before Joe Wardle put the hosts back in front on 31 minutes. However, Liam Farrell touched down on the stroke of half time to make it 12-12 at the break.

Danny Brough ended the first half having kicked over four points for the Giants, while Matty Smith also scored four points with the boot for Wigan.

Brough went over early in the second period to put Huddersfield back in front, only for Wigan to seize control with three tries of their own.

Farrell touched down for the away side, while Josh Charnley scored twice and John Bateman also added his name to the scoresheet to give the Warriors a valuable victory by the end of the afternoon.
