Huddersfield Giants rally to draw against Leeds Rhinos

Huddersfield Giants recover from 22-6 down to draw against Leeds Rhinos in the Super League encounter.

Huddersfield Giants recovered from 22-6 down to draw against Leeds Rhinos in a pulsating Super League encounter this evening.

The home side took the lead after six minutes when Joe Wardle went over after Danny Brough broke through the Rhinos' defence.

Brett Delaney responded for the visitors, before three more first-half tries from Carl Ablett, Joel Moon and Kallum Watkins gave Leeds a 16-point lead.

Brough kicked a penalty to reduce the deficit, meaning that Leeds went into half time leading 22-8.

No points were scored in the opening 20 minutes of the second half, but three tries within eight minutes from Michael Lawrence, Jermaine McGillvary and Wardle turned the game on its head.

Liam Sutcliffe's penalty brought the scores level in the final minutes, before he missed out on a one-pointer which would have given Leeds the win.

The draw leaves Leeds five points clear at the top, with Huddersfield down in fourth.
