Josh Charnley ran in four tries and Sam Tomkins three as Wigan Warriors thrashed Widnes Vikings 62-4 in the Super League this afternoon.
Tomkins opened the scoring very early on for the hosts, touching down on his birthday before Pat Richards added two extra points with the conversion.
Charnley then single-handedly took the game to Widnes, scoring three tries in the space of 10 minutes to put Wigan 24-0 up after just 23 minutes.
Tomkins added another 10 minutes before the break before Charnley turned provider by offloading to Chris Tuson, who went over unchallenged.
Charnley got his fourth of the match a couple of minutes later to give the hosts a handsome 38-0 lead at half time.
Wigan started the second half as they ended the first, extended their lead even further courtesy of a Liam Farrell try.
Richards then went over in the corner before kicking a touchline conversion to bring up the half century of points for Wigan.
Iain Thornley was the next to cross for the hosts, doing so with 10 minutes left of the match to touch down for Wigan's 10th try.
Widnes did get themselves on the scoreboard in the closing stages when Lloyd White broke through for a consolation try, but it was only fitting that Wigan completed the scoring as Tomkins went over for his hat-trick in the last minute.
