Wigan Warriors boss Shaun Wane says that Sam Tomkins has a "50%" chance of being fit to face Widnes Vikings in Monday's Tetley's Challenge Cup quarter-final.

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane has claimed that Sam Tomkins has a "50%" chance of being fit to face Widnes Vikings in Monday's Tetley's Challenge Cup quarter-final.

Wane expects Lee Mossop, Darrell Goulding and Michael McIlorum to feature in the match, but captain Sean O'Loughlin and Ryan Hampshire are unlikely to recover in time.

"Ryan Hampshire turned his ankle [during Friday's 26-20 win over Bradford Bulls] and has again today in training," Wane told reporters. "Michael McIlorum has a slight problem with his knee but I am expecting him to be fit.

"There is a good chance on Lee Mossop being fit for next week, there is less of a chance on Sam Tomkins and a chance for Sean O'Loughlin but even less than a chance for him. I would say it's 90%, 50% and 30% chance on those players being fit and ready for the Widnes game.

"Scott Taylor is still not running with his hipflexor, he is three weeks off and Hame Epalahame Lauaki is also three or so weeks off. Darrell Goulding should be okay to return so we will have three centres for two spaces with Anthony Gelling and Iain Thornley so that's good."

Wigan have won the Challenge Cup on a record 18 occasions. Their last triumph came in 2011.
