Wigan Warriors have closed the gap on Huddersfield Giants with a 36-22 victory over Hull Kingston Rovers at the DW Stadium.
The home side raced into an early lead when Josh Charnley went over after just two minutes.
It was one-way traffic in the first half, with Wigan piling on the points through Charnley, Sam Tomkins and Lee Mossop.
Charnley, who finished with three tries to his name, did have some luck with the boot, kicking over four times in total.
The visitors managed to get on the board before the interval, when Ben Galea touched down and Michael Dobson converted to make the scores 26-6.
Hull came out of their shell during the second period, and hit back with tries from Shannon McDonnell, Josh Hodgson and Kris Welham.
However, two tries from Anthony Gelling had quelled any fears Wigan may have had of a comeback from the visitors.
