Bradford Bulls bring in James Clare, Matt Ryan

Championship side Bradford Bulls bring in winger James Clare and back-row forward Matt Ryan from Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Wildcats respectively.

Bradford Bulls have secured the signings of winger James Clare and back-row forward Matt Ryan.

Clare, 24, joins the Championship club until the end of 2016 from Castleford Tigers, where he notched 24 tries in 38 appearances for his hometown team.

Australian Ryan, meanwhile, was released by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats earlier this week and will now stay with the Bulls until the end of the current season.

"Both have good Super League experience and I think that is going to be important heading into the Super 8s," Bradford coach James Lowes told the club's official website.

"James is a young lad, who is going to have a long future in the game. He is a finisher with great pace and when he became available, we grabbed him.

"Matt had a great season with Wakefield last year and has got a few Super League games under his belt. He offers us fantastic cover, both in the back row and in the centres. You want competition for places and they should certainly lift what we are doing in training."

The Bulls, who are looking for an immediate return to Super League, currently sit second in the Championship table and will take part in the Super 8s qualifiers when the regular season finishes.
