Wycombe Wanderers have been held to a 1-1 draw by Fleetwood Town in their League Two clash this evening.
Wycombe created the first chance of the game when Max Kretzschmar cut in from the left, before letting off a shot which was saved in the centre of goal.
Stewart Murdoch hit back for Town, but he saw his header from the centre of the box flash wide to the left with the goal gaping.
In what turned out to be a rather tame first half, Town's Alex Marrow produced a good chance as he turned a right-footed shot from a difficult angle towards goal, only to see it saved at the bottom right corner.
Wycombe grabbed a surprise goal right before the break when Stuart Lewis unleashed a right-footed shot from outside the box, which flew through the defence and nestled in the bottom corner.
Kretzschmar was straight into the mix of things after the interval as he sent in a long-range effort, which was tipped over the bar.
Town grew increasingly frustrated in the second half as they were restricted to efforts from distance. Alan Goodall almost made one count from 35 yards, but it was smartly kept out by Matt Ingram.
However, Fleetwood got the reward their second-half pressure deserved in the 76th minute, when Jon Parkin prodded home into the roof of the net from a few yards out.
Anthony Stewart would have given Wycombe all three points late on had his header not been directed straight into the arms of the Town keeper in the closing minutes of the game.
