Wolverhampton Wanderers are open to holding discussions with Sporting Lisbon regarding a transfer fee for goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sporting Lisbon have suggested that there is dialogue over a potential fee for goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

Last month, Wolves announced the signing of Patrico on a long-term deal after the Portuguese international opted to terminate his contract with Sporting due to a group of fans attacking players at the training ground.

As it stands, Wolves have not paid a fee for the 30-year-old but acting Sporting president Sousa Cintra has indicated that the West Midlands outfit are open to meeting Patricio's previous asking price.

In response, Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell has told the Express & Star: "As we always have, we tend to do our transfer business behind closed doors.

"If there's conversations to be had with them or with the various authorities we'll gladly have those conversations."

Any fee could potentially end up being determined by a FIFA or a tribunal.
