Wolverhampton Wanderers sign Portugal keeper Rui Patricio

Wolverhampton Wanderers complete the signing of Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio from Sporting Lisbon.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio from Sporting Lisbon.

The 30-year-old stopper has signed a four-year deal at Molineux, the Premier League newcomers have announced.

Patricio, who featured in Portugal's 3-3 draw with Spain at the World Cup, has won 70 caps for his country.

Previous reports suggest that Wolves did not have to pay a transfer fee to sign the goalkeeper, with Patricio cancelling his contract due to a dispute with his former employers.

Patricio is expected to compete with John Ruddy for first-team football at Wolves.
