West Ham United have reportedly offered Sporting Lisbon £20m for Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
The Hammers have been busy in the opening month of the transfer window, bringing in Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop and Lukasz Fabianski.
According to Sky Sports News, another player could be incoming at the London Stadium as Manuel Pellegrini has made his move for Fernandes, who scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in the Primeira Liga last season.
Recently-appointed manager Pellegrini is said to have been given the green light by United chiefs to push ahead with the large bid, with Sporting yet to respond.
Sporting risked losing Fernandes on a free due to behind-the-scenes turmoil at the Estadio Jose Alvalade, but it is claimed that the 23-year-old will still attract a transfer fee as interested parties fear the case being taken to a tribunal.
