West Ham United have taken a 2-0 half-time lead in the first leg of their Championship playoff semi-final against Cardiff City.
The Bluebirds took the upper hand early on with two efforts from Peter Whittingham and Kenny Miller, but both were unable to breach the deadlock.
Instead, it was the visitors who opened the scoring after eight minutes through Jack Collison.
The Wales midfielder latched onto Ricardo Vaz Te's cross but saw his first effort saved by David Marshall. However, Collison reacted first and managed to nod in the rebound.
Collison doubled the Hammers' lead just before half time with a deflected effort to put West Ham firmly in the driving seat.
