Troy Deeney signs new Watford contract

Watford confirm that striker Troy Deeney has agreed a new five-year deal with the Premier League club.

Watford have confirmed that captain Troy Deeney has agreed a new contract with the club.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Hornets, but he has now signed a five-year deal to extend his stay at Vicarage Road.

He joined the club in August 2010 from Walsall and has gone on to score 81 goals in 220 games, including 21 last season to help them win promotion to the Premier League.

Deeney is the third Watford player to extend his contract this week, after Gabriele Angella and Craig Cathcart both penned new long-term deals.
