Vitoria de Guimaraes earn first win of season with victory over Tondela

Bruno Nascimento puts the ball into his own net to hand Vitoria de Guimaraes their first win of the season in their Primeira Liga clash against Tondela.

Vitoria de Guimaraes secured their first win of their Primeira Liga campaign courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Tondela this evening.

The home side took the lead in the 12th minute when defender Bruno Nascimento put the ball into his own net as he tried to clear the danger from his own box.

Tondela tried to push back into the game, but Guimaraes were resilient at the back and even had chances on the counter at the other end of the pitch, although they couldn't notch another goal.

The visitors exerted pressure late in the match as six minutes were added for stoppage time, and despite their desperate attempts Tondela were condemned to defeat, allowing Guimaraes to earn their first victory of the season.
