Team News: Lionel Ainsworth returns to Motherwell starting lineup

Motherwell recall Lionel Ainsworth to the starting XI for today's trip to St Mirren.

Motherwell have made just one change to the side that won 2-1 at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Tuesday for today's trip to St Mirren.

Lionel Ainsworth - who has nine goals from 19 league games so far this season - returns to the side, with Shaun Hutchinson being the man to make way.

The hosts have made two changes to their team for the clash at St Mirren Park, as Paul McGowan and Marc McAusland come in for Adam Campbell and Gregg Wylde.

If Motherwell avoid defeat, then they will move above Aberdeen into second place in the Scottish Premiership, as Derek McInnes's side are not in action until Monday evening.

Meanwhile, the hosts are just one place above bottom side Hearts.

St Mirren: Dilo, McGregor, Goodwin, McGinn, Thompson, McGowan, McLean, McAusland, Kelly, Naismith, Newton

Motherwell: Nielsen, Reid, Hammell, McManus, Sutton, Vigurs, Lasley, Kerr, Anier, Ainsworth, Leitch
