Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King insists that Mauricio Pochettino is taking the correct approach in the transfer market.

Former Tottenham Hotspur captain Ledley King has insisted that Mauricio Pochettino is taking the correct approach in the transfer market this summer.

Spurs are yet to boost their squad ahead of the 2018-19 campaign, and only have a little under two weeks of the summer window left to secure new players.

Pochettino claimed earlier this week that he was not worried about his club's lack of activity, and King has said that his former team are right not to panic despite their lack of incomings.

"Obviously everyone else is adding to their squads and I'm sure the manager is looking," King told Sky Sports News. "But he will only bring in the right players for the right prices and I think that's important.

"We need people who are really going to make an impact in the squad. If not, then we don't need to buy. I think the consistency of the [current] squad is one of our strengths at the moment.

"This is a group of players that have been together for the last three or four years under the same manager. They understand each other really well and I do believe that is one of the strengths in our squad."

Tottenham opened their preparations for the 2018-19 campaign with a 4-1 win over Roma in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday night.
