Jermain Defoe has said that he is looking forward to playing a part in Spurs' title challenge after returning from injury.
Defoe came back from a hamstring injury to make a substitute appearance in the 1-1 draw with Swansea on Saturday.
Harry Redknapp's side sit six points behind both Manchester clubs and Defoe has urged the side to close the gap at the top of the league.
"I've no problems now and I'm ready to go," the 29-year-old told the club's official site.
"Every game is massive, every game is like a cup final and we need to get the points to stay up there.
"I can't wait for 2012 to get going. Hopefully I'll get a chance on Tuesday and do my stuff."
Defoe joined Spurs for his second spell at the club in 2009.
