Benfica have confirmed that Filip Djuricic has signed a deal to join Southampton for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a move to the Saints in recent days as part of Ronald Koeman's plans to improve the club's chances of qualifying for the Champions League.
Djuricic had been on loan at Mainz 05, but his struggles to find form in the Bundesliga have not prevented Southampton from agreeing a deal with Benfica.
It has not been revealed whether an agreement is in place between the two clubs to make the move permanent in the summer.
Djuricic is Southampton's second loan signing of the transfer window following the arrival of Eljero Elia from Werder Bremen.
