Sheffield United have acquired the services of Burnley's Danny Lafferty on a season-long loan.
The 24-year-old marks the second arrival at Bramall Lane this evening, following on the heels of fellow defender Ethan Ebanks-Landell from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Manager Chris Wilder told the club's website: "We are trying to create genuine competition for places and with Kieran Wallace going out today, Daniel will challenge Chris Hussey for the left-back role, as will Ethan, with the central defenders.
"Daniel is a good age and has shown a great appetite to join us."
Lafferty, a 13 times-capped Northern Ireland international, becomes the Blades' 12th signing of the transfer window.
