Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to the player's father and representative.
Madrid have been looking to sign a new midfielder, with their desire for a January addition increased following the news of Sami Khedira's long-term injury.
"Madrid's interest in my son is considerable and they want to negotiate for him," said the player's father Irfan.
"But, at the moment, we can't do anything until Ilkay has completely recovered from his back injury.
"When he is playing regular football we can begin talks."
Madrid currently occupy third spot in La Liga on 41 points.
