Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso is in talks to extend his contract with Real Madrid, according to a report.
The 32-year-old's current deal is due to expire at the end of the season, which had alerted the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool, who are both said to be keen on luring the midfielder back to England.
However, The Metro reports that Alonso has instructed his agent, Inaki Ibanez, to open talks with Los Blancos in regards to a contract extension.
Alonso spent five years at Liverpool from 2004 under manager Rafael Benitez.
