Former Real Madrid midfielder Luis Figo has admitted that everyone involved with the club is hoping that Jose Mourinho will stay on as coach beyond the end of this season.
Figo, who also played for Barcelona during his career, also said that should Mourinho leave the club will carry on as normal.
"You'd have to ask him whether he's going to stay or not, I can't speak for other people because I'm not inside the club," Figo told AS.
"We'll have to wait and see what happens. Madrid are a club with a lot of history, but it won't end because of that. Everyone hopes he continues."
Mourinho's Real are second in La Liga.
