Former Portugal international Luis Figo believes that the current squad did not do enough to get the best out Cristiano Ronaldo last night.
The Real Madrid winger failed to make much of an impact as his side slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Germany in Lviv.
However, Figo has insisted that Ronaldo's teammates should shoulder the blame for their captain's failure to influence the match.
"I think the team need to give him the chances to have a good performance," said Figo.
"Cristiano's style is to finish, to score, so if the team don't produce those kind of opportunities then of course his performance is down."
Ronaldo is currently playing in his fifth major tournament for Portugal.
