German champions Borussia Dortmund are not in the best of form heading into Wednesday's meeting with Real Madrid.
They have won just once from their last six outings in all competitions.
Both Mario Gotze and Marcel Schmelzer will have fitness tests ahead of Madrid's visit, although reports in Germany have hinted that the left-sided duo will be deemed fit enough to play.
Madrid also have injury concerns of their own for the trip. Full-backs Alvaro Arbeloa, Marcelo and Fabio Coentrao will all be absent, which means that Michael Essien will drop in to fill the void.
However, Sami Khedria has recovered from a slight knock and should return to the starting lineup.
These two sides have met on four previous occasions and Dortmund have yet to come out on top. Madrid have won twice, while the other two encounters ended level.
