Rangers forward Steven Naismith has been suspended for the club's next two fixtures after swinging an elbow at Dunfermline Athletic defender Austin McCann on Saturday afternoon.
A Scottish Football Association compliance officer has assessed television evidence of the incident, which was missed by referee Iain Brines, and Rangers have accepted the penalty.
"Steven has already had an apology accepted by Austin McCann and admits there was no deliberate intent to make contact with the player," read a statement on the club's official website.
"Manager Ally McCoist supports the new SFA fast-track process for dealing with disciplinary matters and trusts it will be applied fairly across all clubs."
Rangers won the fixture 4-0.
