Rangers manager Ally McCoist says that he is to blame for Rangers shock league cup defeat Falkirk.

Rangers manager Ally McCoist conceded that he made bad selection decisions after they were beaten 3-2 by Falkirk in the Scottish Communities League Cup.

Mark Millar netted in injury time after Farid El Allagui had earlier bagged a double which was cancelled out by strikes from Dorin Goian and Mikica Jelavic.

“I pick the team and I shoulder all the responsibility for the result. It's as simple as that,” McCoist said.

"I'm not going to say what might have happened if I'd picked him or picked someone else because we will never know the answer to that.

"What we do know the answer to is that I fully take the responsibility for the team."

Rangers return to league action this Saturday when they travel to Dunfermline.
