Queens Park Rangers veto move for Rio Ferdinand?

Rio Ferdinand's move to Queens Park Ranger is delayed as the club's board are unwilling to offer the proposed wages to the former England defender, according to reports.

The Queens Park Rangers board have reportedly vetoed Harry Redknapp's decision to sign Rio Ferdinand this summer.

Ferdinand, who was recently released by Manchester United, was reported to have agreed terms on a switch to Loftus Road after Redknapp made signing the former England international a priority ahead of their return to the Premier League.

However, the QPR board are believed to be reluctant to offer a big contract to the 35-year-old despite his decision to take a pay cut to secure a deal.

According to The Mirror, Redknapp has been informed that members of the board are concerned about offering high wages to a defender of Ferdinand's age, and confirmation of the move has been delayed.

Ferdinand is believed to have had offers to play in other European leagues and the USA.
