Manchester United have reportedly agreed an £8m deal with Feyenoord to sign defender Stefan de Vrij.
The 22-year-old is currently with the Netherlands squad at the World Cup and has one year remaining on his contract with the Dutch club.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, De Vrij was on the verge of signing for Lazio, before a move to the club fell through.
It has led incoming United manager Louis van Gaal to step up his interest in the player, as he looks to replace the defensive duo of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic.
De Vrij was among the scorers as the Netherlands claimed a 5-1 win in their opening World Cup match against Spain.
