Preview: Sheffield Wednesday vs. Queens Park Rangers

Sports Mole previews Tuesday night's Championship match between Sheffield Wednesday and Queens Park Rangers.

Queens Park Rangers will feel that victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night could rekindle their hopes of getting promoted from the Championship automatically.

Harry Redknapp's side dropped away from the top two with a winless February but can close the gap to Burnley in second to seven points with victory at Hillsborough.

They have a number of injury problems after Saturday's 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town with goalkeeper Robert Green, Armand Traore and Jermaine Jenas all picking up knocks. In-form West Ham United loanee Ravel Morrison is also a doubt with a groin problem.

The absentees should open the door for the likes of Brian Murphy, Tom Carroll and Bobby Zamora.

Wednesday come into the match in confident mood after their 4-1 win over Birmingham City on Saturday.

Stuart Gray could welcome back first-choice keeper Chris Kirkland after three games out, but there is no need to make any other changes as Wednesday eye a top-half finish in the closing weeks of the season.

The most likely change that Gray is likely to make is to give Benik Afobe the nod over Atdhe Nuhiu up front.

However, Nuhiu did score against QPR in the reverse fixture way back on the first day of the season when Rangers came from behind to win 2-1 at Loftus Road.
