Queens Park Rangers striker Jay Bothroyd has said that Mark Hughes would be a "tremendous appointment" for the club.
The London club sacked Neil Warnock after a string of poor results that have left them just above the relegation zone.
Since the announcement that Warnock had left Loftus Road, it has been reported that Mark Hughes was the favourite to fill the vacancy. Hughes, who left Fulham at the end of last season, has been in discussions with the board at QPR.
Bothroyd expressed his views on the managerial change via his official Twitter account.
"Obviously sad to see the [manager] and Keith Curle go, but Mark Hughes and his team would be a tremendous appointment."
Hughes will continue talks with QPR today.
