Ray Wilkins says that it would be "very pleasant" to return to Queens Park Rangers as manager.

Former Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins has claimed that he would be 'delighted' to become Queens Park Rangers' new manager.

The 55-year-old, who previously coached the West London side for two years, has put himself forward to become sacked Neil Warnock's replacement.

"It would be a delight to go back and help [QPR] out," Wilkins told Sky Sports Radio. "It would be an absolute pleasure to go back.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stint there before, I enjoyed my time at Chelsea. I think I've probably grown in that field quite a bit over the last couple of years. So it would be very pleasant to take on.

"If what I'm saying at the moment puts my hat in the ring then yes, that's the case."

The Premier League side have confirmed that a new manager could be in place by the weekend, with Mark Hughes being touted as the likliest appointment.
