Former Queens Park Rangers manager and player Iain Dowie believes that Neil Warnock should have been given more time to improve on the Rangers' Premier League form.
The former Crystal Palace boss was sacked by the West London club last night, with owner Tony Fernandes claiming that QPR's place in the league table, which is just one point above the relegation zone, was the reason behind the dismissal.
"Neil seems to be given very little credit for the job he did last year, which is rather surprising," Dowie told BBC Radio 5 Live. "Also I don't think the position they're in, in the league, is beyond the kilter."
Former Fulham manager Mark Hughes is believed to be holding talks with QPR over the managerial vacancy at some point today.
