Portland Timbers came from behind to beat New York Red Bulls thanks to goals in either half from Maximiliano Urruti.
The hosts took the lead on 36 minutes when Bradley Wright-Phillips netted from the penalty spot after Lloyd Sam was felled in the area.
However, Portland were back on terms before the break when Steve Zakuani played in Urruti, who tucked his shot beyond Luis Robles.
The Timbers forward then put the away side in front of 74 minutes, although there was a suspicion that the Argentine forward may have been offside in the build-up to the goal.
In the end, Portland held on for victory and moved away from the foot of the Western Conference, but the Red Bulls' season continues to falter, with only three wins so far this season.
