Nottingham Forest offer Stuart Pearce "alternative role" at City Ground

Nottingham Forest announce that they have offered sacked manager Stuart Pearce an "alternative role" at the club.

Nottingham Forest have offered sacked manager Stuart Pearce an "alternative role" at the club.

The East Midlands club confirmed in a statement this evening that Pearce had been sacked as manager following reports that emerged earlier today.

However, Pearce might still have a job at the City Ground as the club have offered their former captain a role that is yet to be revealed.

This evening's statement read: "After long discussions between owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi and manager Stuart Pearce, the club has decided that Stuart will be relieved of his role as manager with immediate effect.

"Mr Al Hasawi has offered Stuart an alternative role at the club, which he is currently considering."

Pearce was removed as manager following a run of just three wins in 23 games for Forest, who are 12th in the Championship.
