Dundalk winger Daryl Horgan has reportedly attracted interest from both Newcastle United and Sunderland.
The 24-year-old has been one of the key figures in Dundalk's form on both the domestic and European scene, and he was rewarded for his performances with inclusion in the Republic of Ireland squad to face Austria last week.
However, according to The Telegraph, the Irish side face a fight to hold on to his services as both the Magpies and the Black Cats look to add him to their squad in January.
It has been claimed that Sunderland hold a long-standing interest in Horgan and are regarded as favourites to secure his signature, but with the club in the Premier League relegation zone and Newcastle clear at the top of the Championship, the second-tier side may fancy their chances of tempting Horgan to Tyneside.
Horgan has played in each of Dundalk's four games in this season's Europa League, scoring in their most recent match against Zenit St Petersburg.
