Stevie Hammell has maintained that Motherwell can finish second in the Scottish Premiership.
The Steelmen are currently level on points with Scottish League Cup winners Aberdeen following Wednesday night's 2-0 victory over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Many have backed the Dons to take the runners-up spot behind runaway leaders Celtic, though Hammell believes that their rivals' recent Cup triumph will work in his side's favour.
"It suits us. Rightly so, they will probably be favourites. They are playing well and they will take massive confidence from their cup win as well," the 32-year-old defender is quoted as saying by BT Sport.
"We have three games at home and we're looking for a good points tally on the board. It's a good start. We can always push to be better. We will give it our best and hopefully we can do it."
Hammell has spent six seasons at Fir Park after joining the club in 2008.
