Queens Park Rangers win it late on against Middlesbrough

Late goals at the Riverside Stadium ensure that Queens Park Rangers edge past Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Late goals from Bobby Zamora and Ravel Morrison have secured a 3-1 victory for Queens Park Rangers against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship.

The visitors had two chances early on to open the scoring, as first Joey Barton got an effort in at goal which was kept out by Dimi Konstantopoulos, before the keeper got up to turn away Tom Carroll's follow-up.

Robert Green, who was returning to the Hoops' starting lineup after missing the last game through injury, was called into action for the first time after 14 minutes, pushing away Jacob Butterfield's long-range drive.

Green failed to keep out George Friend shortly after, however, with the ball squirming through his hands to cross the line, giving Boro the lead.

QPR carved out an equaliser on the brink of half time through Yossi Benayoun, who found the back of the net after a scramble inside the box.

Albert Adomah came close to firing Aitor Karanka's side ahead, but his shot was routinely saved by Green, before substitute Junior Hoilett had an effort of his own kept out.

As the game looked to be heading for a draw, Zamora pounced on a mistake at the back to slot into an empty net, before Morrison struck from distance with seconds remaining to secure all three points in style for QPR.
