Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger blasts journalists for constantly asking questions regarding Robin van Persie's future and claims that there have been "no bids" for the striker.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hit out at the press for constantly probing him for answers regarding Robin van Persie's future at the club.

The Dutchman, who was left out of the Gunners' squad for their pre-season tour of Asia, has made it clear that he will not sign a fresh contract at the Emirates, despite only having one year left to run on his current deal.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus have been heavily linked with the 28-year-old. However, Wenger has insisted that the North London outfit have not received any offers for the prolific frontman.

"The Van Persie case doesn't cross my mind." said Wenger . "We have had no offers. He is close to fitness, of course, but we have not had any contact about him at all. We will not come back forever on Van Persie, We have many strikers at home.

"Van Persie is one of them, but we also have [Lukas] Podolski and [Olivier] Giroud. For now, we must prepare for the season and it is about more than one player.

"We have talked about Van Persie. There are four English people here and there have been four questions about Van Persie. I have talked about that, I am not talking about that question anymore. Do you understand? If you understand and respect what I said, then why do you ask me again?"

The French boss was speaking following his side's 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in a pre-season friendly in China.
