Bastian Schweinsteiger on way out of Manchester United after just one season?

A report claims that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is hoping to offload Bastian Schweinsteiger, while also bringing an end to Ryan Giggs's spell at the club.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to offload midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger this summer after just one season at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old, who is in Germany's final squad for Euro 2016, has seen his brief spell in the Premier League - in which he made a total of 18 appearances - hampered by injury issues and poor form.

According to The Mirror, United are looking to sell Schweinsteiger as incoming boss Jose Mourinho puts his own spin on the side, which could also mean the departure of Ryan Giggs from the coaching staff.

It is claimed that Giggs will depart the Theatre of Dreams in the coming days once he returns from a trip to Dubai, bringing an end to his 29-year association with the club in various roles.

In terms of incoming activity, the Red Devils are expected to wrap up a move for Villarreal defender Eric Bailly in a £31m deal at some stage next week.
