Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly received a double boost in the chase for Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap.
The 22-year-old is currently navigating his first campaign in the top flight of English football following a loan spell at Hull City in the Championship during 2023-24.
Delap and Ipswich were unable to strengthen their survival chances on Saturday afternoon, when the Tractor Boys lost 4-1 at home to Tottenham Hotspur.
Despite an average display against the Lilywhites, the striker has enjoyed a productive season to date, scoring 10 goals and providing two assists from 25 top-flight battles.
Contesting their first Premier League campaign in two decades, Ipswich are languishing down in 18th spot in the league table, five points behind safety.

Man United, Chelsea informed of positive Delap update?
According to Football Insider, Manchester United and Chelsea have received a major update in their bids to sign Ipswich star Delap over the summer.
The report claims that the Tractor Boys could be 'forced' to sell the 22-year-old should they be unable to avoid relegation to the Championship.
Ipswich would supposedly find themselves in a position where they would need to raise funds, with Delap one of the biggest assets at the club.
There would also understandably be a reluctance from the England youth international to endure a campaign in the Championship after his goalscoring antics in the top flight.
Delap and Kieran McKenna's troops are back in action in the Premier League on Wednesday night, when the East Anglians travel to the Theatre of Dreams to face Man United.

Man City 'not in the race' for Delap
Growing up through the Manchester City academy, Delap left the Premier League champions on a permanent deal during the last summer transfer window.
The Citizens inserted a buy-back clause in the arrangement for the 22-year-old, meaning that they are in a good position to re-sign the talent.
However, it is understood that Pep Guardiola's men are not interested in triggering that stipulation currently, handing another boost to Man United and Chelsea in their pursuits of Delap.
