Barcelona reportedly set their asking price for Spanish attacker Ferran Torres, with Manchester United and Liverpool both believed to be keen to sign him.

Barcelona have reportedly set their asking price for Ferran Torres, with the versatile attacker expected to be on the move during this summer's transfer window.

The 25-year-old has scored 13 goals and registered three assists in 32 appearances for Barcelona this season, including seven goals and two assists in 20 La Liga outings, but he is behind Robert Lewandowski when it comes to the starting spot at centre-forward.

Torres has been used in a wide area by Barcelona, but Lamine Yamal and Raphinha have both been in extraordinary form this season, so his route into the team as a winger is also blocked at this moment in time.

There has recently been a host of speculation surrounding the forward's future, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in serving his signature during this summer's transfer market.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona want between €35m (£29.3m) and €40m (£33.5m) to let Torres leave, with Manchester United and Liverpool both said to be keen on his signature.

Man United, Liverpool 'interested in summer deal' for Torres

The report claims that Aston Villa are also in the running, and Unai Emery's side could seriously compete for his signature if they are able to once again secure Champions League football for next season.

Torres started his professional career with Valencia, representing the club between 2017 and 2020 before arriving at Manchester City, and he enjoyed a successful but short time at the Etihad Stadium.

The forward managed 16 goals and four assists in 43 appearances for Man City, and he then made the move to Barcelona in 2022.

Torres has scored 38 goals and registered 16 assists in 145 outings for Barcelona, including an impressive record of eight goals and three assists in 20 Champions League appearances.

Would Torres be a good signing for Man United, Liverpool?

Torres is a class act, and he is unfortunate that three of the best forwards in the world are ahead of him at Barcelona.

Time and time again, the Spaniard has proven his quality at the highest level, and he has previous of impressing in the Premier League, so it is difficult to pick out a downside to a deal, especially for the price mentioned.

Both Man United and Liverpool could sign a couple of attackers this summer, but the former would surely need to secure Champions League football for next season in order to seriously compete for him.

It would also be slightly controversial for a former Man City player to make the move to Old Trafford, but with a starting role likely to be on offer with the Red Devils, a switch to the 20-time English champions would surely be appealing to the Euro 2024 winner.
