Manchester United reportedly make Kalidou Koulibaly and Milan Skriniar their top transfer targets in the summer following a quiet January window.

Manchester United have reportedly made Kalidou Koulibaly and Milan Skriniar their top targets for the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils have had a quiet January window, failing to bring in a single player with uncertainty still surrounding their managerial position.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's record of eight wins and one draw from his nine matches at the helm have catapulted him into contention to get the job on a permanent basis, but United have been reluctant to spend big money midway through the season.

However, they are still keen to bolster their defensive options when the window reopens in the summer, and The Independent reports that they have placed Napoli's Koulibaly and Inter Milan's Skriniar at the top of their wanted list.

Both players were too expensive to target this month, but the board are willing to invest in the long-term future of the club once they have appointed a director of football and new permanent manager.

United will instead now focus on securing the futures of key players, having tied Anthony Martial down to a new long-term deal on deadline day.
