Manchester United players are glad that Alexis Sanchez has left the club, according to a report.

Manchester United players are reportedly glad that Alexis Sanchez left the club towards the end of last month.

Following months of speculation, the Chile international completed a season-long loan move to Inter Milan.

The 30-year-old has only managed five goals in 45 appearances for the Red Devils following a switch from Arsenal, including just three Premier League strikes.

According to The Sun, a number of United players believed that Sanchez 'was wildly overpaid' by the club, and the dressing room at Old Trafford 'are glad to see the back' of the South American.

Inter are said to be contributing £4.5m of the attacker's salary this season, leaving United to pay the remaining £6m of his huge pay packet.

Sanchez still has three years left to run on his contract with the Red Devils, though, and there is no option for the loan move to become permanent in next summer's transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will attempt to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they host Leicester City after the international break.
