Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Swedish starlet Jonah Kusi-Asare from AIK Fotboll.

The 16-year-old is understood to have attracted interest from a host of top European clubs including Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, Bayern have successfully won the race for the signature of Kusi-Asare, who has put pen to paper on a long-term contract with the Bundesliga giants.

Bayern have confirmed that the teenage striker will "live on the FC Bayern Campus" and will be integrated into the club's Under-19s team.

Speaking to the club's official website about Kusi-Asare's arrival, sporting director Christoph Freund said: "Jonah Kusi-Asare is a young striker with enormous potential. He had several offers but chose FC Bayern because we managed to convince him about how we want to build up and develop him here.

"He has all the attributes: he's technically strong, fast, tall, very robust for his age and an excellent finisher. We're very pleased that he'll be playing for FC Bayern in the future."

Director of youth development Jochen Sauer added: "Jonah made his debut for AIK in Sweden's first division at the age of just 16 and is already very advanced for his age. We believe in his potential and are pleased that he'll take the next steps in his development with us."

Born in Solna, just north of Sweden's capital Stockholm, Kusi-Asare began his youth career with Brommapojkarna before joining AIK this time last year.

Just a month after his 16th birthday, Kusi-Asare made senior debut in the Allsvenskan for AIK in August, becoming the club's youngest-ever player in the Swedish top flight.

The 6ft 5in striker went on to make a further three first-team outings, while he also made his first appearance for Sweden's Under-17s side in September, scoring a hat-trick in a 3-2 win over Moldova.

Kusi-Asare has become Bayern's fourth signing of the winter transfer window after centre-back Eric Dier, right-back Sacha Boey and winger Bryan Zaragoza.

The latter of whom has also joined the club on deadline day, with the ex-Granada man penning a five-and-a-half-year contract.
